My gyno prescribed physical therapy. I know it sounds weird but it really helps. I was uncomfortable with the idea at first because it seemed invasive, but my physical therapist does a lot of work on my lower back and stomach that is not. I also trust her and she is really understanding so I'm sure this helps. It takes a few sessions for the pain to go away and some times I still have flare ups but it has definitely helped.
For the short term I have found that vagisil extra strength cream helps the pain. I use it after sex and it numbs the burning. My gyno seemed to have no problem with me using this as a treatment.
Also - I am blessed that my boyfriend is very patient. It has made things less spontaneous but we still manage to have fun. It helps a lot to be intimate with someone who is understanding.
My gyno said they also use gabapentin and other nerve pain medications for this but honestly, I am afraid to take something like this. I'd rather try the physical therapy first.
