So, your ultrasound can be negative for any pathology, such as cysts, and your blood can test as normal (not anemic) and you can *still* have issues such as mine with red blood cells being too small. My naturopath is keeping an eye on this and can treat the condition if it doesn't resolve on its own. I get rechecked in a few months.
It's really important to do your own research and become your own advocate because the doctors aren't the ones who have to live with the consequences of their decisions. It's your body, you know if things are right or not. You can find the level of health you want if you do your homework and ask for what you need and keep asking until you get it.
The ultrasound is certainly a good start to rule out any cysts or fibroids or tumors. At one time I had Polycystic Ovary Disease and my OB/GYN recommended a resection (surgery) that would have drastically impaired my fertility and drugs that would have made me ill and had dangerous side affects. I'm glad now that I listened to my gut and did not follow her treatment plan.
I healed my ovaries and endocrine system with knowledge gained over a decade of research. I'll boil it down to two books/authors at this time: [I read this one for healing my thyroid and hormonal cycle, not for weight loss.] The Schwarzbein Principle: The Truth About Losing Weight, Being Healthy, and Feeling Younger by Diana Schwarzbein, MD and [This one goes into great detail about many health conditions and she also has an online support system for women's health issues]Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom: Creating Physical and Emotional Health and Healing by Christiane Northrup, MD.
These two women authors are women first and knowledgeable physicians as well. Their advice, road tested by thousands of women over the last decade, speaks volumes about what isn't working in our medical system for women and how we can have ultimate health and wellness despite its ineffectiveness.
I hope some of this helps. I wish I'd had this knowledge when I was in my 20's but I'm glad I have it now (age 42).
