My GI told me to take zinc, fish oil.
I am eating more fruits and quinua.
I never drink,or seldom take medicines for my chronic pain.
Also I take an herbal tea Boldo to cleanse my liver.
I am careful what I take because I had breast cancer.
My next blood work is in June, hope is normal.
When I suggest that to my GI he dismissed it quickly. But it is my body. I began taking Metamucil 2x day for last 3 months, lost a bunch of wt and today my new lab report shows my AST,ALT are right smack in the middle of normal range. I will see my GI in 2 weeks and I am hoping he will be pleased.
The Metamucil forms a thin film of gel in your stomach lining, and controls the rate of sugar digestion. As result I actually have more energy, eat the same normal meals no diet, and lost wt. For last 3 months I had 1 or 2 hypoglycemia attacks total vs almost daily.
Now Metamucil isn't a cure-all. My cholestrol, triglycerides are still high, although they have come down considerably. What I am trying to say is taking Metamucil is not enough, yes it worked marvelously on the AST/ALT, but I still have some work to do with exercise and eat the right fats in order to achieve total health.
Good luck to you. In fact I have lost too much wt i temporarily stopped the Metamucil to gain back a few pounds which should be easy to do.
