Family Issues Support Group
Family issues is a huge range that go from minor conflict to major misbehaviour and even abuse on the part of individual members of the family occur. Whether you feel you are in a dysfunctional family or you're dealing with a very specific issue, this is the place to talk about it and find others who might be going through the same thing.
I've always had a very odd and strained relationship with my mother to the point I think her and possibly me have mental disorders. Her moods flip at the drop of a hat and I've never felt I can do good enough for her standards. She would come home after a bad day and take it out on me, she'd apologize sometimes only to do it again the next day. It was always over small things and Instead of having a conversation she throws a tantrum. I'm 23 and moved in with my Boyfriend a month ago and my Dad passed away almost 2 months ago and I feel I only kept a relationship with her because everyone felt I should, but after her losing her marbles on me over a messy room 3 weeks ago I decided to no longer endure her abuse.
Does anyone else have parents who mentally and emotionally abuse them? Have you moved on or tried to fix things again?

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

My advice to you would be to never. ever try to fix something unless you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are the one responsible for the problem. I believe our main job in life is to grow and move forward unencumbered and most certainly unencumbered by those who would mistreat us.
Life offers plenty of challenges and things to figure out without trying to unravel relationship problems you did not cause.
If you succeed in keeping distance between yourself and your mother you will eventually see the emotional damage to your self-esteem which being in a relationship with her occasioned.
My father could be very unkind and I think as adults it's important to have healthy boundaries
It hurts a great deal and to continue to set yourself for more of the same is no good for you and you will just get more and more resentful
When things are calm you could discuss with your mother how you feel..... Saying "I'm sorry" only to turn around and do exactly the same thing again isn't being sorry
Anger comes from somewhere … It's not a primary emotion.... It's caused from pain, fear or frustration..... If your mom is willing to some therapy may help her and in turn you a great deal
Anger is a stage of grief as well
There is a Healthy Relationships board on here
