Hello guys. I am writing right now really frustrated and misunderstood. My mom has a way of speaking to me that really irritates me and just gets deep under my skin. According to my PTSD, one of the most difficult things for me is being able to have a decent relationship with anyone, who. my parents. A lot of things happened between my mom and I.
This goes back to 2010. Things drastically were changing at home and the one one thing that changed was my ability to trust and show love to her. One day, a social worker called asking questions about my brother and so, since my mom wasn't there, I answered instead. Well things didn't turn out well that same night and she decided to make me look wrong and feel wrong for answering honestly.
I was telling a cousin of mine, whom i consider one of my best friends, about something my mom said and how i felt about it. I know she didn't mean anything wrong but she just said "ok". I didn't know how to take it but i immediately told myself not to take it personal. She has a nasty cold so maybe that's why. But it kind of got to me and its like, " damn. Ppl don't really get how PTSD affects ppl. She knows that I have it but you know what I mean. As much as I try to not take things personally, its like its unavoidable. Anything slightly said in a subtle, mocking or ignorant tone, i take it personal and then i defend myself.
Anyone here, can you relate? I really just wanted to get this out of my system but I am open to suggestions...

& you don't go into specifics... but perhaps your cousin likes your Mother and didn't want to get caught in the middle of things.
As people we are all viewing things from our own perspective... What you say about subtle, mocking and ignorant tones.... well those sort of things are all coming from our own perspective... there is really no way to prove what a person's "tone" was..but you are always free to stay away from the people who YOU perceive to be acting in a rude way towards you.
