I wrote some discussions on teh things my parents have done to me recently, so if you want to know my story, just look for "My parents tried to kidnap my son"...
So the latest is that my step-dad keeps sending me emails telling me that they want to see my son this weekend. They claim since he is thier grandson, they have a right to see him.

That got me thinking. They no longer consider me to be their daughter, and they refuse to return about $1,000 worth of my things (my son's powerwheels car, the flute my husband bought for me, ect.) So if I'm not their daughter, wouldn't that mean that my son isn't their grandson??

I finally had enough of their crap that I blocked their email addresses...

I wish I could tell you how to change other people's hurtful behavior, but I don't know how. I've had many people in my life who have done things that I could hang on to if I chose, but what's up with them keeping their grandson's toys. That's just wrong. I feel as though there's always a positive side to the coin. The positive in this situation might be that you don't have to deal with these jerks anymore or put your son in danger of being kidnapped again. Hugs, sara PS-Write me if you want. I haven't read the discussion yet, but I plan to. Sounds like your parents are manipulative and they must think that by keeping your child's toys they are punishing you or can control you somehow. I have had to make decisions regarding my family as to whether it was worth it or not to keep up relationships with them because of the way they treated me. I haven't spoken to my sister in 9 years because of things she has done to me. Also, my brother for that matter - haven't seen or talked to him in 15 years. I miss them, but I am better off for not having to endure their abusive ways. Can you get a court order to restrict their visitation of your son? Just an idea - I've heard of people having to do this.

um, NO ONE has the right to see your son except his legal guardians! Id get a restraining order. Done and done.

I'm glad you blocked their e-mails and I do see your point. Anyone who kidnapped my child, even family, would NOT get a second chance. So, I would back you up. HUGS

Just say no if they call or come by. Standing up to someone you have that much history with it tough but you have to think of the effect it will have on your son.

Have you talked to your son? If not, you should probably talk to him about it in language a young child can understand. Make him understand that if your parents or anyone show up in a mall, at school, on the street corner, where ever and want him to come with them he should refuse and run and find you.

These people have absolutely no rights to your son!
They are abusive and horrible!
