Looking for some support and prayers for tomorrow. You can read previous posts about my MIL and the issues. We have been in counseling (husband, MIL, and me) since July. She announced that she was through with me, but was willing to try to work things out with her son (my hubby). This was in late September. She fired me from the business her and my husband own together. I had worked there for just over 7 years. It is the best thing that she could have done for me. My life is much better without dealing with her everyday. The problem is I got a threatening email from my sister-in-law's husband (so MIL's daughter's husband) less than 24 hours after a counseling appointment between hubby and my MIL. He said since I don't accept him or his children that he didn't accept my children and that I better watch myself because things happen. His children are also my sister in law's kids and my kids are also my hubby's kids, so there's no split family and kids from other relationship stuff going on. I was shocked and asked my husband about it. He said that he had told his mom that our family doesn't go to big family events or goes and only stays about 2 hours with so many people because it stresses our daughter with autism out. He wanted her to spend time with just our kids, him, and possibly me. She threw a fit according to my husband, so hubby thinks that's where the email came from. Now, hubby wants me to go to the next counseling appointment. He has informed his mother and counselor that I'm coming. I'm scared and stressed. In previous appointments before September, I was often attacked by MIL. My husband doesn't stand up to his mom and would say nothing. The counselor would say things like name calling is uncalled for or I shouldn't be expected to put my daughter in a bad situation that stresses her out due to her autism but I would continually be verbably beaten up. I really am dreading tomorrow to the point my stomach hurts. Prayers and support would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It doesn't mean he can't have any contact with his family but it sure would put a lot less drama in your lives. His family sounds like they live for drama, gossip and are never satisfied unless they have someone to pick on or gossip about so I say let them have their negative world and you and your family can focus on what really matters in this life and that is being happy content and enjoying all that life has to offer.
Anyway I truly hope your hubby plucks up the courage to take a chance in life and put you and the kids first and to say heck with the rest of the family. Wishing you all the very best.
Did you show that email to the counselor? If so what did he say?
Have you considered talking to your husband about moving far away from these people? I know he is in a family business but maybe it is time to leave that and do something else. Sounds like he is the brains and brawn in the business so maybe he could open his own...just somewhere else.
I know this is a drastic step to take but life is too short to be this miserable.
