my parents lie to me and say im not trustworthy
my parents have always told me that trust is the most important thing and that we should always be open to talking about everythign together. i found out the other day through doing reserach on my dads heart condition for a school project that its hereditary and i have a 50/50 chance of also having it. they never told me anything and they hate talking about it- thats why i used google. for another example- 2 years ago my dad started having these operations to remove something from his bladder. as time went on and there was more hospital visits, i figured out what was going on (my parents are trrible at keeping secrets). my dad had cancer- i could never prove my hypothesis but i always knew in my mind that something was happening. then a few days ago, nearly 2 1/2 years after the first op my dad told me in the car about the cancer. I wish i had told him how i feel then but i couldnt. i was stopping myself crying, even though i spent ages dealing with it before i knew for certain. but now i dont feel sad about it - im only angry at my parents for not telling me, then lying when i asked and telling me off for not being trustworthy when they knew all along and never told me

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

All I can say is that some parents think that they're protecting their kids from the harsh realities of the world.
Myself...I never did that. Even when it was hard. I won't get into it, but kids are capable of handling the harshest realities of life from a very young age. (Put another way, if it can happen to a kid, they can certainly handle hearing about it.)
A lie is a lie...even if it's by omission.
All I can say, is that you can do better than them both in how you talk to your parents, your closest friends and your own children if you have them.
I'm sorry that your father is ill .... I know it hurts a great deal..... Gentle hug and a blessing.....xo
