Family Issues Support Group
Family issues is a huge range that go from minor conflict to major misbehaviour and even abuse on the part of individual members of the family occur. Whether you feel you are in a dysfunctional family or you're dealing with a very specific issue, this is the place to talk about it and find others who might be going through the same thing.
Recently I have been going through a lot of family issues that have really been bothering me. It all started a year ago when my mom and step dad split up due to something that could have been resolved. Shortly after they split up, my mom got in a new relationship. This bothered me because I felt she was just giving up on their relationship after 15 years of marriage. They signed divorce papers in September (10 months after splitting up). My step dad said that once the papers were signed he wouldnt be able to go back to my mom. Now after having the papers signed for a few months now, they are talking about getting back together. It is all just so confusing. I obviously want what is best for them and their happiness, I just feel that them getting back together wouldnt be the brightest idea.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

How to put it: You don't know, what you don't know. Most parents try to keep the details of their relationships away from their kids. You really don't need to know the details of their romantic relationship, their issues with chores, money or anything else. As such, you really don't know if the reason they split is trivial or not.
My best advice is to just be the best friend to your mother that you know how to be, and hope that if you go through a breakup yourself...that she will be there for you too...no questions asked.
My kids are 16 and 18...so yes I can only imagine how hard it IS for you. Perhaps lean on your own friends during this time?
Best of luck, Patti
Big hug.... and deep breaths..... xo
