Family Issues Support Group
Family issues is a huge range that go from minor conflict to major misbehaviour and even abuse on the part of individual members of the family occur. Whether you feel you are in a dysfunctional family or you're dealing with a very specific issue, this is the place to talk about it and find others who might be going through the same thing.

If you feel so strongly about this issue then wait till your 18th birthday and tell your parents that you are unwilling to have the surgery done. If you doubt the doctor; get a second opinion and take it from there.
This is not a "control" issue with your parents. I'm sure they have your best interests at heart and since you are still legally a ward of their care; they're making this decision on your behalf.
Scoliosis only progresses and what you don't take care of today will come back to haunt you later on in life. Trust your parents!

When you are 18, you are an adult and any surgeon or doctor needs your consent to do any procedure or operate on you. They are also required to answer all your questions. You can also go elsewhere and get a second or even a third opinion because this is your body.
I know your point but things aren't as they seem.. They "my parents" may have made their decision rashly because they cared or just because of people telling them stuff you know gossip people the ones that stick their noses where they don't belong...
And yeah I did doubted him because he was saying some wake stuff which weren't true anyone could see he was hesitating and didn't actually want to do surgery ...
But you really had to see my point of view... One My back wasn't changing for a long time always the same 2 It is my body after all and is not fear to make a decision really rashly there were danger in the surgery one was That I may or may not lose my legs, the risk of dying and the risk of the doctor making a mistake also the fact that such a surgery can only be a last resort if you have the back as big as me...
scoliosis doesn't always processes in many cases it just gets worse or it just stop getting bad... In my case it just stopped getting bad.
Well is kinda of hard t trust anyone who's making a rush decision just because people who don't know any better tells them to do so and don't think about it first...
Anyways I was just answering back to the reply
Right now that is all in the past... Now I'm 18... My back is not getting bad or anything like that My back has been the same for more than 5 years now it hasn't changed...
Just yesterday just by coincidence I went to an appointment for a fisical... My doctor asked me some questions and he said that as long as my back don't get any worse.. I don't have to do anything about it which of course I agreed... I'm 100% healthy ....
