My husband is so smart.
Im educated in Psychology and Sociology and if I had to put a label on it I would say that he has Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Any Personality Disorder is hard to treat.
I would say that our marriage started to fail when I came down with Interstitial Cystitis. At the time my husband was recovering from Diverticulitis.
IC is the third worst pain in medicine, surpassing cancer....but just like cancer you can’t see it so you don’t LOOK sick.
When this pain hit I said that I needed to go to an urgent care right away. I said “You don’t know what this feels like!”
His response was “You don’t know what diverticulitis feels like.”
We met in the rooms of Narcotics Anonymous. When I got IC he didn’t believe I was really sick. He thought I had relapsed. After going to school to lobby for an in patient treatment center in our area. After building NA from the ground up in our Area. After doing an internship in an out patient substance abuse treatment center in our area. After doing service work and having three sponsees.
