Family Issues Support Group
Family issues is a huge range that go from minor conflict to major misbehaviour and even abuse on the part of individual members of the family occur. Whether you feel you are in a dysfunctional family or you're dealing with a very specific issue, this is the place to talk about it and find others who might be going through the same thing.
So, from previous posts, you may know that I have a good husband with the mother-in-law from hell. They run a family business together that was started by my husband's parents in 1979. I've complained and whined alot about my mother-in-law and my hubby's inability to stand up to her.
My husband came home Saturday night after being gone for 8 days on chaperoning our church's HS youth group on a mission's trip. Without a word from me about it, he announces he's given himself 1 year to turn the business around and get his mom out of the office (meaning she retires or works part time from home). I'm shocked, but very relieved. This morning when his mom started chewing him out about me (she's mad because he told me to do some tasks in his absence; I refused to apologize when she complained about it and told her she could take it up with her son when he called; when he called, she slammed the phone down on him; he tried to talk to her again the next day and she slammed the phone down on him again), he informed her if you don't have any more respect than that for my wife, you can consider this my 1 year resignation. He then left her office. I don't know what the future holds, but I can tell you for the first time in a long time I feel protected and safe. I know whatever comes in the next year won't matter because my husband has just proven his family is important.

i told my mom how she wont disrespect my bf obviously that didnt mean nothing both parents always cross the line with ppl and cant understand why they get threaten but my dad has been beaten up before not sure of what he did. my mom disrespected my bf, brother's wife, and sister's husband.
my mom hates my dad but tells her daughters at least i got a man/hubby. a loser who never took care of his family thats what she is proud of
It should be interesting to see how things unfold. Be prepared for a bumpy ride. I would also continue to stay out of their arguments. Your answer to her "ask your son" is perfect. Let them figure it out.
Oh I am so excited for you!! Please continue to post about how this is going. I would also start thinking about what else you (and husband) would do if things don't get better with mom.
