Just see so much about Toxic Mom's and parent's thought I'd mention my darling children. We were good parent's ,the kids were spoiled of course just cause its so easy to do . I thought everything was fine they all grew up 32,30,28 and 24. My oldest had the first grand baby .The were wonderful sharing him then they had twin boys and of course needed lots of help. We adore those boys and they adore us. Then they moved to another country and ee miss them tons but visit often and we are still close .The next son had a baby ,well his wife lol.We were pushed away from the beginning ,I was shocked ,my oldest came home for a few weeks in the summer and we hardly saw them,we were shocked yet again. I wasnt invited to baby showers i only knew that cause I found out about them .Id been buying away and babbling to them and everyone how excited i was ,couldnt wait for showers ,so there I was again shocked, mouth hanging open ,thinking what the heck ? Hardly hear from any of them ,have never babysat 2 year old granddaughter. Ive been asking them to go with us to zoo or beach but it never happens. Now another baby is on the way, never hear anything about due date . When I ask all I get is "we are to busy" We have our own lives" Why dont you and Dad get a life so we dont have to feel guilty, our weekends are busy we dont have time to see you. I stop cannot believe how we are treated ..

I am so sorry! I am a mother of 5 children and hope one day that they will never disrespect me that way. In a way that is a mother worst nightmare. I would sit down with your adult kids and let them know how you feel. Maybe they don't even know that they are hurting your feelings. Hopefully it helps.

As one of 5 children who is only 1 of 3 who still speak with our parents - I'd like to add my 2 cents...take it or leave it, I'm not trying to be rude - just maybe give you a view from the 'child' side. Anyway, I choose to still speak with my parents, however, I completely understand and support my other step siblings choices not to. They don't speak to me because of this either. Their choice. I think you are missing something here - more to the story, an event, something that caused a riff for all of them to treat you this way. You may have missed it, but find a way to open the communication so you can at least find out and get an opportunity to at very least, apologize (if in fact you did something wrong), maybe they are all truly too busy with their own lives...based on their ages, maybe they are struggling right now with family, work, kids, etc. I'm sorry they shut you out, but in their minds, they may have a very good reason to have done so. Personally, I feel obligated to allow my parents into our lives, this is the only reason I still speak with them. Until they are a danger to my children, they will be allowed around us, and them. That being said, I will never trust them fully nor will I invite them into my day to day life w/o a safety net and/or wall up to protect myself. My mom is an alcoholic and my stepdad is manic/bipolar. My childhood was scary, and they did so many things wrong - but I have chosen to not penalize them anymore as I do understand they did the best they could. They messed up, they are human...but I'm still hurt by all the horrific things they did, and I will never repeat them. I've made some peace with it, but to this day, they still don't think they did anything wrong, but I know the truth, and I believe I am a better person because of some of their choices. Call one of your children, or, set up a family day for all of them to come to your house and have a BBQ, dinner, whatever - let them come in numbers for support. Meals are a good way to see people, everyone needs to eat. :) You are the parent still, so open up your life to them ALL, don't wait around for them to welcome you into their lives. Do this weekly until they all show up. Eventually, they may come. I'm sorry, take care and good luck.
