My husband abuses me. We have been married two yrs and it started soon after we were married. First he would wait until we were intimate and slap me asking me if I was cheating on him or if I was his only lover. It was semi serious, but nothing bad. Then it escalated recently to full on putting me in a head lock, pushing me to the ground, repeatedly slapping me. Today he had a really odd outburst and violent reaction to me changing our plans this morning and he pushed me several times before slapping me and shoving me out the door for work.
In the past we would fight and the next day he would say 'can I beat you up I have urges to just mess your face up", but he didn't seem serious and I let it go. Recently he told me that one day he is going to hurt me so bad that there will be no going back and that if he was going to go to jail he might as well make it worth it.
I am an MBA graduate and own my own business....he is an illegal mexican with no hs diploma. We have two kids together, which he doesn't put his hands on. I know for many people reading this its a no brainer- run away!!! Some part of me is still desperate for his love. I am not unattractive by any means...which is part of the problem. He is very insecure that I will leave him.
Anyway....I just wanted to vent and I guess that was the point of my post.

Hey all, i know its been quite awhile since i posted on here. Its been a summer all right. Its been something else........... You know how they say not to open the can of worms? Well a few months ago i decided to find out what my due date would have been for my first baby, the one conceived by r***. My baby would have been due on March 4th of 2006. They would be 20 years old. I was R**** on June...

You will never have his love unless what you want in the name of love is pain.. ..This is the way he treats women
This is what your children are seeing.... If you have a daughter she's learning that this is how women should be treated and if you have a son he's learning how to treat women
You deserve so much better and so do your children.. I don't know why you think so little of yourself... Therapy can help you with your self esteem
Shame on him... he's told you outright that 'one day he is going to hurt you so bad that there is no going back' and that he has urges to 'just mess your face up'... Why the hell aren't you believing him???.... To hell with his love... this ain't love and you do need to run before he wants to prove it to you
You owe your children more then this... They deserve to be in a safe home
Big hug for you and a blessing...x
I have this fear inside me that I would end up both a Violent Husband and an Abusive Dad because of my Rageaholism. (I will get my first appointment with my life coach tomorrow)
Then invest in a couple of real big, territorial dogs.
A child isn't stupid. They will know what happens and you are teaching them low self esteem by letting them see what you put up with.
Report him. And I love the dog suggestion, too.
Get a lawyer, first, though.
You should not have to run; you should get rid of this guy and then spend some time in therapy to figure out why you allowed this to happen.
But regardless of that, you need to leave this man. If you won't do it for yourself - which you should - you need to do this for your children.
He may not be slapping or hitting your children (yet, or that you know of), but they know he is abusing you. Kids are smart. You may think they aren't seeing it, but they know.
Also - what will happen to your kids and who will care for them if he messes you up to the point where you cannot care for them or worse, if he ends up killing you?
And don't say "my mom will take care of them" or "my sister" or whatever... Kids needs their MOTHER. For your kids sake, you need to turn this guy in, leave him, divorce him, do whatever you need to do to protect your kids and give them a better life.
You're teaching your kids that it's OK to treat a spouse like this. Whether it's your daughter thinking it's OK to stay with a man who abuses her, or a son that is learning it's OK to abuse women. It's wrong.
Be careful when you leave, though. Because he is violent and has stated that if he goes to jail that he might as well "make it worth it"... be smart about your leaving strategy.
Get a PO Box and have all your important mail sent there.
Get a cell phone that he doesn't know about (like a track phone or one of those disposable type phones) that you can use.
Figure out a safe place to go like a friends house or relative's house that you trust, in case you have to leave. If you can get him to leave - or have him arrested - immediately have locks changed and make sure windows are secured and locked. Don't leave the garage open or unlocked, that is an easy entry way for people trying to break in.
Document everything. Write down dates, times, what happened. Take photos of any bruises or redness or anything.
If there are any weapons in the home, remove the bullets and keep the bullets in a separate locked area from the weapon itself. This way if he tries to use a weapon he will have to hunt for the bullets and that will get you time to escape.
Protect your business. Also, he may think that if you die, he will inherit everything. Make out your will or plan your estate carefully so that everything goes directly to your mother, children, etc. but NOT to him.
But most of all, you just need to get you and your children away from him.
