Family Issues Support Group
Family issues is a huge range that go from minor conflict to major misbehaviour and even abuse on the part of individual members of the family occur. Whether you feel you are in a dysfunctional family or you're dealing with a very specific issue, this is the place to talk about it and find others who might be going through the same thing.
I am having a problem with my 25 year old son who lives at home with me and my 33 year old daughter. I have been a single Mom for many years and my children's dad has been deceased since 1997. My son is not much of a talker and at times has had problems with anxiety but no longer goes for any help related to that. The past year or so he has hardly talked to me even though he lives at home with me. Yet last Christmas he bought such thoughtful gifts for everyone in the family, the first year he ever did that, and I thought he was really maturing. On Mother's Day this year he gave me a beautiful card which I now have on my wall, along with the very nice cards my daughters always give me. But in October for my birthday he gave me a generic card and did not participate in my birthday celebration dinner with my children. It was somewhere around that time he quit talking to me. Since then he has only talked to me sarcastically when I ask him something but mostly he will not even answer me. I have told him how rude that is but that doeesn't change matters. He just ignores me like i am not even here. Now it appears that he will most likely not even participate in Christmas with myself and my daughters and it just devastates me. I don't know why he is so angry at me. It is not like we have had a fight because we haven't.

I have to say, I've been fairly stable for the past 9 years, except for anxiety issues. For any who don't know me, before 2017, I was a Mess. Seriously undermedicated crazy person. And, since I've been stable for so long, I had come to believe I was "cured". That bipolar just miraculously ended for me....Until last month, when some things started happening that used to happen. And now I'm...

Since he lives with you, maybe when things are quiet, when you two happen to be eating a meal together, you could casually ask him how he is doing and what's new.... you know him better than I do, so you would know *how* to approach him.
I guess if all else fails, you could ask your daughter if she just happens to know if anything is up with him Not ask her in a prying way, but just in a casual way.
ml is right... This is passive/aggressive behaviour
