here was the last I posted on to the forum for Bipolar Individuals when others on that forum felt offended. See below.
As we draw closer to the New Year, I now feel more hopeful, and Optimistic to start a fresh new chapter in my life. To me, everyday is a new day of life. If the day before was not so good, I look forward to the next day, which can be a better one. Being steadfast, and keeping the faith is what keeps me living and not just existing. We can all exist. But, can we honestly start living again after taking care of a Bipolar parent. Some of us spend most of our lives being the fixers. That is when we lose who we are and simply exist.
We need to come to terms with reality. Change is possible, but we can either spend our lives trying to change others, or we can live and let it Be. And, change is not possible for all, unless they genuinely seek that. I love my Bipolar mom, and must accept her as she is. I bless her with all my heart. Every Night, I forgive her and bless her, so I can have that inner peace when I sleep at night. I do this mostly for me, as I don't wish to have anger and hate in my heart, as it is very unhealthy. Also, my mom may not realize consciously of her actions and behavior, and me holding on to the anger from that can get me sick and she can careless about how I feel. Whenever, I feel any emotions of anger towards my mom, that is when I forgive and bless her. And, I honestly feel that with time, my heart will forgive her and that weight of anger and hurt will be lifted of me.
I'm sorry for what you go through loveabp. We are in a similar situation in my home. Hope things get better.
I found a blog with so many comments which validated my experience with my bf of 3 years. You might find this helpful too, at http://blogs.psychcentral.com/bipolar/discuss/1342/page/2/#comments . I would like people who are facing these issues to discuss them here, as it seems you do too.
So far, it seems from what I see that the medicated bipolar people are less bothered by their condition than those in relationships with them. Then the people who are in relationships with bipolar people. Then the unmedicated bipolar people are the most tormented, but often do not change. Is this right?
