JOb/Workplace issues for bi-polar folks

Do people with bi-polar issues have work place issues at a higher rate than others? Do BP folks have problems keeping jobs?

some do.

If you aren't medicated then it is likely to cause issues. If you are medicated but still have problems it can cause issues again. People with depression have similar work difficulties but obviously with bipolar you have the other pole.

Having said that I've been with the same company for over 30 yrs in middle management.

My daughter just quit a job and I am beginning to suspect that she may not be dealing with work issues in a healthy way.

Before my daughter had her psychosis and was diagnosed bipolar, she had quit several jobs. There was always something wrong with each job and she always blamed it on either her supervisor, the management, etc. That was before she was on bipolar medication. Now that she is on proper meds, she has had a job for 1 year now and she likes it but feelings of paranoia still pop up at times (she thinks other workers are talking about her or she is afraid she will be fired for no reason).

So I believe with some bipolar people there are issues in the work place. I hope that helps.

    I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car.
