I am sorry you feel that way jackiecook - as I would feel if anyone from the board felt that way. It does seem that you might be taking this very personally and I am sorry for that. You may not like OneOfThem's approach to subjects but as someone on the outside looking in I feel that Mohawk was not completely forthcoming. So there were issues - as with any disagreement - on both sides. And to be fair we did hear Mohawk out but when we asked questions he did not really answer some of the more 'difficult' questions. Mohawk must know that his beliefs and ideas are not exactly the norm among sex offender groups so personally I think he should be prepared to be a little more thick-skinned.

I do not think that OneOfThem alerting us to potential issues is an attempt to insult my intelligence or yours. So it is all in one's perception - I see it as a protectiveness and I did not see him post anything that was untrue. You must admit that a person in our situation feeling that the justice system is working and that the registry is a good thing is unconventional at best and to be honest a little unsettling.

I for one am sorry that you feel so upset.

Also I hate to point out that Mohawk was the first one to become agitated. I just re-read the post about the community he is building and he was the first one to actually insult our intelligence. He insinuated that we were a bunch of forum posters with nothing better to do and are not doing any pro-active work to change things just because we had the audacity to question the logistics of his ideals and methods.

Again I want to say that I am sorry that some feel that any of us were not open-minded or insulting - I do not think any one intended it to be so.

Also jackiecook you have no idea what we do to help or what our life situation is - it is you who are now being judgmental. I have posted before that I work 2 jobs just to try to stay ahead of the debt this situation has caused. I am not talking 2 part-time jobs but a full-time one and a part time one. Many times I put in 16 hour days. I am a single woman (divorced many years) so I have no significant other to share this burden with me - however, I have vowed that as long as I have a breath in my body I will do everything I can to keep my son from becoming homeless. I help as much as I can to be involved with what Gail is doing in Florida but I do not have the free time to devote to the cause as many of them do - I would love to because I certainly have the education to be a valuable help - but right now my time and effort have to be concentrated on helping my son's situation. Actually as I am writing this I am becoming more and more upset with you for your assumption - like Mohawk's - that we are all just forum posters that do not help the situation at all.

Just a word of encouragement, It's good you're involved with your local support groups for your family, yourself and your son. My son is still incarcerated but I've been meeting other registrants and their families who are involved with CaRSOL as well as local groups. What I've learned is that I feel less helpless being active in these groups and will be building part of a support system for my son when he is released. Sometimes I worry that I may not be around.
