So for those of you who know the story of my uncle know we have been trying to stop the harassment and the following. Recently a few people of the cult have reached out to him and said they have an official fund raiser to give him money in offer he does a recorded interview to explain his side of the story. But I have seen the posts they are making and the questions they want to ask him seem unfair. His PO said he can do it as long as he agrees.

At this point they've raised almost 5k, the amount he wants. Do you think it's worth the chance for them to have more video/audio of him to make fun of for the chance that he gets to finally explain himself? he really needs the money but I worry it will make it worse. And he REALLY wants to tell his side of the story, not just the chat logs and phone calls they have seen. They don't know his side, they just think he is a sick man.

BTW, looking at the typos in my recent post, and since I hear the board is up-grading Daily Strength to be more used friendly...Please please place an edit button first (in place of the current 'submit reply" next to the cancel below)

Don't allow me to do the foolish thing.....Make it so (in order to get to the submit reply/publish button) I 1st have to push the edit button, (and edit maybe) and then below that I can push "submit Reply" or push cancel.
If nothing else you would save me a few red faces when I see all the typos in my unedited replies....

Keep away from them, tell them nothing. They will have run out of things to do and want "fresh material" for their twisted fun. Telling them his side will not help if anything it could put him (or you) at risk. Just let it die down, they will eventually get bored of it once they don't see anyone giving a damn. Like all trolls they feed on reactions and attention. Take it away and they will be left powerless. What you are going through is horrible but try and ignore it. Locally we had a toy shop owner convicted of selling CP in the shop. His windows were smashed constantly, webpages up, people boycotting the shop. The windows have stopped being smashed now, people go in the shop and there have been no vigilantes. His was a very high profile case but they moved on once they were bored.

And another thing, they don't want or care to know the whole story. They like the fantasy version they've built in their minds, that version gives them reason, as far as they're concerned to be a$$holes

faerydark is so right, their version gives them reason, as far as they're concerned to be a$$holes" It excuses their behavior in their own minds. And no amount of $$ is worth risking your dignity or letting them disrespect you by scamming you. Be the better person here.

One other thing.. look at how may people here on Daily Strength care about you enough to stop and offer help, answer your concerns and try to warn you. People on daily Strength support and care about both. .

Neither you nor your Uncle are alone. They want you to think you are but you are not.

You all are great thanks. You all make sense. Yea, he needs to not feed them more material. I saw how they went crazy just with his last registry photo.

He really wants the money but I am trying to convince him not to now. He doesn't know I use this site, not sure how he would feel about it. But he said he really needs the money for personal stuff. Not sure what he means by that, I don't want to be nosy. I mean I understand, 5k is a lot.

If you agree to the "interview", you will get more of the same or worse. Let it go and live your life. They will eventually find another victim. People like that are the scum of the earth and will do nothing but continue to harrass you as long as you allow it. They dont care about hearing his side, they want more they can use against him. You will not get rhe money,and your situation will get worse. For your and your uncle's safety, walk away.

Well for sure if he does use this site he needs to create a name that THEY would not know it was him because they do come to this site - or at least they read it.

Anyone that joined the site using your Uncles name or anything like it would be highly suspicious in my book ...
