No, I would not send him any pictures depicting a minor and especially not a picture of the victim of his crime. They would really frown on him having a picture of the victim.

Most state DOCs have slightly different rules for those convited of a sex offense as compared to those in the general population convicted of a non-sexual crime.

He should ask his case manager or one of the prison staff that works in the mail room before you send anything like that. Since you are comfortable contacting the prison, I would call the warden's office for clarification on this.

I've sent pics of all of our kids and he hasn't had any issues. I do agree with Rew, have him check first.

more then likely they will never know who the victim is or what she looks like , the people working in the prison and such they only know as much about your case as you tell them or what the paper work tells them and the only pics they will see is the ones of they take of him and the ones you send him, the only way the jail/ prison staff is going to know that is his victim is if some one tells them it is

even then whats the worst they can do besides take the pics away you know, there was a guy in my cell that could not have contact with his kids and he still had a whole photo album with his kids and other people in them, there plenty of people that do, but you need to do what you thank is right and what feels good to you, you being on the out side need to protect him even if it hurts or upsets him he will understand im sure, when i was in there i wanted pics of some people but my family would not send pics of them or let me talk to them, even tho i was allowed contact, but they would not do it for my protection even tho them people had nothing to do with any thing they where still miners and my family did not want to take a chance , i hated it but i understood it, some times its for the best to just say no

I would definitely go along with Rew and get approval from the prison warden. They know a lot more than you give them credit for and you don't want him getting in more trouble. The prison warden knows what the guy is and isn't allowed in his cell. I'm confident if you can tell your son the photos have the wardens approval he will be more at ease as well.

I did not send my husband any photos. We spoke with several associations about photographs and they raised a very good point of keeping our children anonymous. No one knew who he would be sharing with and he did not want them to see his children. He's glad he did that as even though he shared with a "nice guy" he was a very dangerous repeat offender.

However he wasn't in for a long custodial sentence so had it been longer I don't know if I would send photographs or not. One of the prisons he was in had a strict no images of minors policy which was the sex offenders prison that only housed local offenders.

I would discuss this with your son before sending in pictures of minors. You should keep in mind that other inmates may have access to these pictures no matter how he tries to conceal them from others. Recently, at the facility my husband is at, an inmate was caught doing disgusting thingswith the pictures of another inmate's children. How do feel about that possibility?

I sent my son pictures of his nieces. He was thrilled to get a chance to see them. I never thought about the person he shared a cell with seeing them. i agree with Rew and Sally Blue. It is better to be safe than to make a mistake and cause more problems. He was allowed to have them.

If they find out that he has a picture of the victim, I can assure you they will have a meltdown. I know they will confiscate the picture.

I doubt that they will do anything to your son, since he was never told anything about having a picture of the victim.

Even if you sent in the picture, the most they can do is just refuse to allow him to have it; but it would be wise to call the prison and make sure.

When my husband left county jail for prison, they shipped all of personal property back to me. That included all of his pictures. The only thing they let him take with him was his addresses and phone numbers and his bible. I have never sent any pictures of minors. He doesn't want any. He doesn't want any trouble.
FYI--i have to brag on him...he was transferred to minimum security just after New Years. He's only been in prison a little over a year. That was something he's worked very hard for.
