Hello Gang!!!!
Hey, I know its been awhile since I have been on here, and I do apologize for that. However, I have a very urgent concern....and I really need everyone's help.
I know some of you know, but for those who don't, my son is incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Complex-Low Facility - in Yazoo City, Mississippi.
On June 15th ( yes Father's Day!) electrical power went out not only in the Low facility, but at the Medium & High, also. Power was restored, but the Low facility's power did NOT come back on. So far, there has been no explanation from the prison as to why---they are currently trying to run some things on generators, but my son called yesterday and said that the generators ran out of diesel fuel, so now ALL power is out!
They (prison officials) have stated it could take 12 weeks ( yes--3 MONTHS!!!) to restore power!!! This is ridiculous!!
This Low facility houses 1700 inmates---they have been reduced to one meal a day..no hot showers, no laundry facility, and limited movement ( read--confined to cells). My son also said that the limited food available has been contaminated by rats & roaches, since there is no easy way to check them in total darkness.
All inmate visitation has been suspended, and all medical care for inmates has been cancelled, due to concerns for the WORKERS!!....I need everyones help in calling, emailing, texted, Facebook, whatever to get through these idiots that this is unacceptable!! At present medical, food service and laundry and sanitation plans are being used to accommodate the needs of the inmate population. Normal schedules and procedures are in effect in all areas that have power. Be advised that modifications maybe required to accomplish the needs of a specific situation. The length of time needed to make the repairs has not been determine. Thank you.
