I would be very interested in anything you find out there. My son will not be out for another 6 years but I am already worrying about what the future holds for him and us. Here is my e-mail address:

Good luck to you..
My heart goes out to those in the system and the ones that love them. I wish the lawmakers had to walk a mile in our shoes.

My name is Shelley, and every day I search for resources which will help in this fight. As a result, I am the Oregon point of contact for RSOL (reformsexoffenderlaws.org) and co-founder of Californians & Oregonians for Balanced Laws (caorbl.org).
I read a response to your post about RSOL indicating that one person would not sign the RSOL petition because it appears to be asking that punishment for all s.o. crimes be abolished; this is not so. RSOL members are families and persons directly affected by the nightmare of errant legislation which causes the registry to be so overblown as to render it useless to anyone. Residency restrictions are destroying lives in record numbers, but RSOL abhors acts of intentional harm to anyone, and we wholeheartedly agree that anyone who would intentionally harm someone in this manner should be punished. It is for the others that we fight, those who fell victim due to nothing more than normal teen indiscretion, a "payback" or vendetta, and some without even a victim. We are making strides as our numbers grow, but there is an inherent need for those of us in this fight to join forces. I encourage anyone to visit the sites I mention here and please email me with any and all questions. We are currently finalizing an RSOL correspondence link which will enable click and send letters to legislators, and editing assistance for those wishing to take advantage of it. We are also in contact with a rep from a large media group who has come forward with offers to help contact persons like John Stossel.
Thanks.
