Also here is some information coming from a Texas organization called TexasVoices, a sex offender advocacy site.
"Just for your info: Three of our RSO members were denied access into Mexico (Cabo San Lucas and Cosumel) in the last few of months. They basically had to get back on the plane and head home.
If anyone travels out-side the US, please let me know the out-come so that I can pass along info to others who may need to know."
I would say that he will not be allowed to enter Mexico.
I hate like hell to be the bearer of bad news, but it is better to know now than to cause an embarrassment for him later.

SO's are being flagged in a shared database.
I am also looking to travel and I can't find out if:
1. The rejections for entering countries are due to US localities notifying / putting a passport flag on a person who has given notice they intend to travel. (21 day notice required in AWA states - not CA)
Or
2. If they have access to FBI/criminal histories and see them when passports are scanned?
Do the people he work with know his status? If so I'd risk it because it sounds like he's not flying and if they don't get notice / he isn't flagged then maybe there won't be a problem.
If Mexico does turn him back does he have a way to get back?
I believe Costa Rica is tied t the Interpol database. If so, the conviction will pop up and you will be denied entry. They have become like Canada in not allowing anyone with a sex offense in.
I have the same question about those previously registered. What then? I guess calling the Consulate would be a good place to start for most countries.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think he will be ok. He will only be in California three, four days tops...does he need to notify the current state we are in that he is leaving and would he need to register in California (or since he will be less than five days, will he not have too?) we are new to this whole registry thing, so I really do appreciate everyone's help.
I know Canada is in the "ever" category. I would love to find a listing somewhere of which country does what.

Ok, first off. There's a current, open thread on the CA RSOL site for experiences with travel.

Mary Devoy has compiled some links on her page for VA, but it also covers national and international travel. http://restoringintegritytovirginiaregistry.blogspot.com/p/whetherits-traveling-for-school-work.html
eAdvocate has info on his blog regarding travel for registrants.

No, that is my dog. He is mostly a lab but has a lot of "mutt" in him. I rescued him from the dog pound.
He is quite a dog. I have a lot of cats and kittens and I am afraid a pit bull would harm them. Hell, a pitbull might even eat me some day.
His name is "Buddy" cuz he is my buddy. The other night he killed a coyote and brought him back to me.
I live on eight acres and the house sits about 500 feet off the road with a long driveway from the road to my house. Buddy guards the property. ha ha He will lay on the ground out there or on the porch and if anyone turns from the main road onto my driveway, he just raises hell. He alerts me to any unwanted visitors. He is very territorial. They don't get over 100 feet down my driveway before he sees them.
Every single lady and people in rural areas should have a dog of some kind. He does not have to be a killer dog, but just one that will bark when someone is around.
