I don't know who else to ask or where else to go. My fiance went to jail for CP charges over a year ago and is currently in prison with a release date of just a little over a year from now. We have two small boys and also my stepdaughter who is five. When all this started I can home to a warrant on the table and a house torn to shreds it was a day before valentines day and two months before our second son was supposed to be born. I stared in shock at the summary of evidence that they were looking for. I got physically ill two days later when the chargeswere made formal. He has admitted to seeing this type of thing showing up on the sharesite but swears he deleted that content when he came across it. The biggest problems have been the age of the kids pictured as they are close to the age of our childrenand the fact that he continued to use the site knowing that the content would show up. Even worse he had set a search to run on the taskbar and let the program run on startup for over two weeks. He still to this day does not know exactly what they found. I love him so much but I can't afford to be wrong for my childrens sake. Ifeel guilty for loving him and feel like a horrible mother for wanting to stay together. It feels selfish to put my kids through the registry nightmare. There is nobody I can talk to and I am alone

It sounds like your fiancé was involved in file sharing and came across the illegal content inadvertently? If that's the case I wouldn't worry about him at all. Like others have said even if he was doing it on purpose the recidivism rates for cp are ridiculously low for any kind of new offense much less a new sex offense.
I remember back in 1999 I was looking on the net regarding VA benefits. When I clicked on what the search engine pulled up, It was a child porn site. I closed it immediately and looked again to see where it was, then it was gone. I wanted to show someone what I saw, but it was just gone. I feel many people just click and before they know it, they are hooked.and don't realize it is a crime.
