I was shocked, confused, bewildered
As I entered Heaven’s door,
Not by the beauty of it all,
Nor the lights or its décor.
But it was the folks in Heaven
Who made me sputter and gasp—
The thieves, the liars, the sinners,
The alcoholics, the trash…
There stood the kid from eighth grade
Who molested his little sister twice.
Next to him was my old neighbor
Who was a felon from drug charges.
Herb, whom I always thought
Was rotting away in hell,
Was sitting pretty on cloud nine,
Looking incredibly well.
I nudged Jesus, “What’s the deal?
I would love to hear Your take.
How’d all these sinners get up here?
God must’ve made a mistake.
“And why’s everyone so quiet,
So somber? Give me a clue.”
“Hush child,” said He, “They’re all in shock.
No one thought they’d be seeing you.”
Judge NOT.

I learned long ago that I do not have the wisdom to judge anyone---and it is not my place.
In prison we did not receive many TV channels, but we did get the History Channel.. Every Saturday morning I would watch a series they had on there called "The History of the Bible."
One morning there was a Jewish Rabbi talking about God's wisdom and judgment. He made a statement that I will never forget. He said, "There is so much good in even the worst of us and so much bad in even the best of us, that only a higher power has the wisdom to sort it all out and pronounce the final judgment."
I agree and I leave the judging to others.
