yeah but they already revised the law and it goes into effect in Sept. I am totally liking that Defense Attorney though and I like how he says at the end he is going to get as many cases as he can before that law! LOL

Yes, the state legislators have a bad habit of wordsmithing and changing a few things about a law that has been ruled unconstitutional so that it won't get tossed by the courts in the future. I don't know how many times I have seen a law struck down and immediately the legislature just changes the law slightly to make it constitutional.

But the point is that people are beginning to see how wrong some of these laws are and that is exactly what we need-----more public support to change the laws including the registry.

There are several reasons we don't have many people on our side----- people are bombarded on a 24/7 basis with myths and false information about these laws-----the recidivism rate of sex offenders is 50%, they always re-offend, anyone who looks at CP is most certainly a future child molester, and that everyone on the sex offender registry is a pervert only a few moments away from snatching up their children and raping them.

This is where we need to educate people. We do a pretty good job, but old habits and beliefs die hard and some people completely turn their minds in the "off" position and do not even want to hear the facts when they hear the term "sex offender." These people I call "willfully ignorant" and they cannot be educated no matter how much or how valid the data is that you present to them.
