you can go to your states sex offender registry website and dig around too. but there's a good chance that someone here can give you a lot of ins and outs of your state.

Your son's release and homecoming is such good news!!! There are still some tough times ahead, but you can get through them. You may want to start a notebook or a folder for everything you're going to learn. Keep track of your sources in case you have to revisit them. He'll need support, that goes without saying, but you will too. We're here for both of you.

What a glorious day and milestone that your son is about to experience. In seven months, it will be the first day of the rest of his life.

The ramifications of the registry can be mitigated in various ways. You and he CAN do this. Yes, it will take some work and will leave you frustrated at times, but you and your son WILL get through this.

My advice is to learn as much about the laws in your area. Come here to the board as there are many intelligent people who are glad to answer any questions or just give you a shoulder to cry on.

We don't judge and we have been or are all in the same boat. We understand the burden a sex offense or the registry places on people. We have been there.

This is a SAFE place where you can come without being judged or ridiculed. You can speak from your heart on this board.

Most of all, the registry is DOABLE. D-O-A-B-L-E.

There are over 750,000 men and women on the registry and most of them are doing well. Not perfect, but OK. There is absolutely no reason your son cannot do the same.

thanks everyone for your encouragement. i am in mid michigan so, anyone with information wouldbe appreciated. the big task will be finding housing willing to accept him with his past.

My son s 1st day out was his scariest ....it was just him and I ......its been almost a year now .....Went to his place last night for supper and found out he just got engaged and is stupid happy ......It will be the first day to a new life ....there is hope beyond the darkness

Sandra, yea!!!!, son comming home, yes the registry is tough, but I'll be willing to bet you that as a mom, you are tougher.
