I know of a group of mums hear who all exercises together and on nice always leave there kids in one of the parks to play.

it's getting really scary what they are doing to people! talk about a "nanny state".

sooner or later if they have their way we will all have bars on our windows and not dare to step outside.

The fear stuff and how they are locking people up for stuff like this makes me worry about you guys! To me it sounds like you guys can't do anything without getting locked up for it!!
The word dictatorship comes to mind!!

When my son was about four months old I went to fill a water jug at qt . I left the car running, I had two sets of keys so I could lock the doors and have the car and a/c running. It is literally impossible to fill a huge 5 gallon jug of water and hold a baby in a carrier at the same time. Since I refuse to allow my child to consume flouridated water I had to go to fill my own water containers. Anyways..I was maybe ten feet from my car..a cop pulled up and honestly I knew I was not doing anything wrong and never thought it could be perceived that I was. He immediately screamed at me, asking if it was my infant that was in the car. Lol I thought he was trying to insinuate I kidnapped him or something, it never dawned on me, until I was in handcuffs , that even though my child was safe, in an air conditioned car, with the doors locked and I had the other set of keys to unlock it in my hands, that by arizona law, I was committing child neglect.
The cop kept saying to me "what if the engine died and the air shut off"?? I was ten feet away!!! Further more, I would like to point out that had I taken him out of the car and sat his car seat on the ground next me in the sun, ugh ya it would have been way warmer. Fucking idiots.
I went to court on child neglect charges and told the judge my child was taking a medication that stated he couldn't be in the sun. I lied, because the truth was just to truthful for them to grasp. In the end the charges were dropped. The prosecutor wanted me to take plea to a lesser charge and take a parenting class. I absolutely refused to plea and I actually won
Keep in mind, the only time not taking a plea works in your favor is in non SO cases. Since the cards are stacked against you to begin with .

this seems to be the new trend in LE - there have been several of these cases pop up recently - in some I probably would not have taken the course that the mother took but I do not think they were clear cut child endangerment. This is just the newest trend in circumventing peoples civil rights

i use to do the same things with my kids when they were babies. and no i don't see where the harm is in locking them in the car, while sleeping in their car seats. they weren't big enough or old enough to get out of the car seats to cause any problem and i was never more than a few feet away. but what is going on is so freaking ridiculous! it's like if we aren't on top of, under or attached in some way we are committing neglect or endangering them.

i've read stories of parents being harassed, embarrassed and condemned for using the harnesses and leads specifically designed for children to keep them close, under control and safe.

and i just read a story last night of a mother who was arrested in a grocery store in SC for cussing in front of/at her kids. and yes, it is a law in SC against swearing at or in the hearing of a child. the law has something to do with endangering the welfare of a child.

we all want to keep our kids safe.... but it's like we are being forced or coerced into raising a generation of kids that are going to end up emotional and functional cripples who will have no idea of how to be independent.

I hate "helicopter parenting" and don't believe it is healthy for the development of children. But that is almost the agenda being forced on us.

i hate it too. that the so called experts on child raising. how the heck are we suppose to raise kids to be functional, adaptable, confident and independent adults by helicoptering is a fools game.

strong child indeed that can or is able to grow up and be all that they should be if they are constantly being smothered and held back/down by a clinging parent.

i feel so sorry for the kids and independent thinking parents.
