My son has been home for 7 months he was lucky and found a job fairly quickly. He was a biology major before his arrest and he just reapplied for school he was accepted. He also applied for state grants he didn't get the 2015 fall grant because he missed the deadline but he did receive a summer grant. He still has ups and downs but he is moving forward. I just wanted to share because without this group I don't think I would have made it thru this nightmare . I read the post often and there are so many people at the point I was at when I joined. I want you to know there is hope for the future it's hard to see it sometimes . I still worry and sometimes I get scared but have to faith that son will make it thru this.
It is so important to read these posts as it reminds us that there is a life after prison and a life after all this mess. Even the registry can be mitigated to the extent that it is not that bad.
Testimonials such as worriedmompas here should give each and every one of us HOPE that things will turn out OK, IF we just allow them to. Her story is important and it is REAL. It really happened. Her son went to prison, is now a registrant, YET he is moving along.
There is absolutely no reason in the world that all the son's, husband's, registrants, and families cannot do the same.
