My son still after almost 2 yrs waiting on a court date , he is locked up in jail. :( my emotions are so up and down. I try keeping the faith that something will work out for the good. That maybe they will consider it time served and release him with probation and stuff. but then on the other hand i have no money. No where to move to or purchase a home where he can live at legally with the restrictions. so what would i do if they tell him that? when he goes to court? not that they will, he did take a plea deal of 10 yrs. but with government shutdown and prison over crowding who knows. I am so mixed on emotions and not knowing what to do or where to turn to for help. who do you ask for help on where we can legally call home? who do you see to rent from or buy from. or who do you get a loan from when you barely make enough to make ends meet as is? so many things waying me down. I am so tired and it seems this storm is never gonna end.I try to stay positive for his sake and encourage him when he calls. but it is hard, the phone calls from jail is $4.61 for 10 minutes when he calls. we put money in when we can for his commasary items he needs. then gas to go visit on sundays.(at least he is close for now sorta) then i order books for him to be sent to him. I have done nothing wrong yet i am paying dearly with my finances just to try and help him out. I don't want my son feeling everyone has abandoned him and don't care. It seems no one in my family cares enough to consider helping me either. I can't ask for hand outs. My husband just started getting his disability he has cerebral palsy and deserved it years ago but they denied him twice and no one could believe it. but finally he gets that but it isn't much. seriously what are we suppose to do to help our loved ones? sorry i spilled my guts today . i just needed to vent a little. I am sorry for all of you who are going through this too. this is hard.
Some of those questions have answers that will only be revealed with time and some of the questions have no answers, at least no answers that we will ever know.
We just have to accept that some of the "whys" have no answer.
This is why it is important that this is a support forum. We are all at different stages of our journey. Some are beginners, some are learning, and some have traveled this road years ago.
Hopefully, we can all pool our resources and our life experience and learn from each other. I know that I have learned a lot from this board and it has been an empowering experience even though I was convicted and in prison years ago.
We never get too old to learn about life, but most importantly to learn about ourselves.
My hope is that we can continue to lead the new people out of the dark back into the rays of sunshine. In the over a year that I have been here, I have seen people come into this mess hysterical and a basket case---and nowhere else to turn---and now they are giving advice to others. This is the way it should work.
You are in good hands here. In fact, this is where you need to be. There are some great people here who have good information to share. It is very difficult to go through this without the support of others.
Stay around the boards. This WILL get better.
