How many more laws do they think the RSO can take now this clown wants to castrate people when they get out of prison and what about female RSO's how will they castrate them if this bill passes???? sometimes some of the bills and the laws that I read makes me ashamed to be human no wait I take that back.it makes me ashamed to be American so much for "The land of the free" peace out god bless and good luck!

I doubt this will make it out of committee either... as the others hadn't... I doubt it will meet constitutional muster... What it sounds like is a play for re-election since the man is up for it next year. "tough on crime" etc etc...

OnceFallen has said that this lawmaker has tried to pass this bill several times, but never gets passed. Sounds like he is up for reelection and wants the public to see him working to "keep them safe from all the SO's".

Hasn't this lawmaker seen what just the name does to people like that poor young boy in Huntsville, AL? Its all about the politics. They just take and take and take.

Nine states have castration laws and it has only been used once. I find it odd that Amnesty International calls castration in humane but is silent regarding sex offenders. Surgical castration had been deemed in humane by the civilized world many years agos.

This politician just can't understand why we can't return to the middle ages way of thinking. Society always shows how sick it is by its laws.

Surely to God the state of Alabama is not so backward and hillbillyish to pass this bill. This bill is totally barbaric in nature.

I have not seen the exact provisions of the bill, but I would hope that it had a clause in there that stated that a man would have to be convicted with proof of DNA for him to be eligible. In other words, incontrovertible physical evidence of his guilt has to be present.

If not, it would created quite a conundrum and a dilemma if a man was surgically castrated and later found to be innocent by DNA testing.
