I got a email from the deacon at my church's wife. I had asked her to pray for my son to be close to home and i got this email instead. also had before that emailed her to let her know i was there to help if i could because they were going through financial crisis. but instead she emailed me back and you guys might think it was nothing but i seen no sense in her having to say this to me. she could have kept her oppinions to herself. I already know he did wrong and he does too. so why pile hurt on top of hurt? email below
to me from her: I understand you wanting to support your son. I would support Jake if we were in the same situation. What bothers me is that you want others to be more understanding of Travis' situation and I just can't. I have three small children that God gave me to protect. That is my job. I don't know all of the details of Travis' trouble, but I do know it involves child pornography. There is nothing that I can think of that justifies looking at naked or partially clothed children. Nothing. Looking at naked women is one thing, but not a child. I can't excuse it. I won't. As far as I am concerned, your son is where he belongs. I may not should be judgmental, but my children are precious to me and I want to make sure nothing like that happens to them, so one more person who is doing things like that behind bars is fine with me. I do, however, want your son to be safe where he is. I hope he is getting better. I do think it is a sickness to look at little children like that. I do hope he is developing a relationship with God. I do hope he can stay close to you so you can visit him. As I said, I know that is your son and you love him no matter what and you should. He needs your support. But, he doesn't have mine. I will pray for you that you have peace with his situation and are able to go and see him. I would want to see my children too. Please don't expect me to feel sorry for him. I just can't.

jmjh, that letter is amazing...I think I'm gonna save that so I can use it for the next "Christian" that looks down on me for trying to live the way Jesus wanted us to...

In the Bible there is no classification of sin. Sin is sin. We all sin everyday unknowingly or knowingly. He who is without sin cast the first stone! As a follower of Christ there is no picking and choosing who we are going to share Christ's love with. A Christian means Christ like. Jesus loves us all even the sinners. Babybb, I am so sorry for your pain and hurt not just from this email but for you and all that you are going through. I am too am a mother of a son who is a SO. He has been out of prison for a little over a month in the state of Florida. A nightmare is all I can say. Not just for my son but for all of us. I feel your pain.

jmjh2001, you hit that dead head. thankyou for the advice. I did reply back to her and it probably was not as nice as i should have unfortunately, but sometimes you get tired of those kind of people and their fake snobby attitudes. so i in so many words told her how i felt and reminded her when they were handing out bottles of water and etc.. to homeless people when they see them on side of road,(they made up packets from bible school last year) that you never know some of them just might be a sex offender because of people like her who would not allow them a place to live so don't try and act so christian like in that category then turn around and snub nose my son for what he did. but thankyou i won't be converseing with her anymore if possible but if i do i will keep that letter for reference. thankyou.
