Remember, POs can request all they want, but any probation revocation will include a hearing in front of an impartial judge. The judge will make the final decision, not the PO.
Many times the judge will not go along with the POs recommendation.
There will be a revocation hearing in front of the judge without a jury present. The PO will prevent evidence and the defense attorney will attempt to counter any evidence. The judge may just throw him in jail for a few months instead of the requested 10 years. Or, the judge might not revoke his probation at all. Much depends on the seriousness of the alleged violation.
Usually a first time probation violation does not result in prison time, but they just take away some of his privileges and his PO tightens up on his requirements. For example, if found guilty, his PO may impose a curfew on him or the judge may order counseling.
Not everyone who violates probation or parole goes to prison.
Good luck,
