As an addition / correction to my post, I see that in 2012 the Oklahoma legislature already passed a law that did not allow a sex offender or any inmate to be released with some supervised paper time after his release.

You can bet the good time credits for sex offenders are history though.

This is sad, all it takes is one bad apple and they won't even consider the 5% redactivism rate as opposed to the 70-80% rate of other crimes. Yet those crimes get overlooked and get early release no problem.

Yah those in jail for any kind sex offence they said you have to spend 85 percent in there .while rest get 50 percent .

You also see people charged with murder and spend less time in prison that someone with a sex offense....

The lifetime registration, many times without a method to be removed by petitioning the court, is the most onerous burden.

I personally think that one of the paramount objectives of some of these RSOL groups should be to get the lifetime registration stopped and make a way for these guys to either be removed through a deregistration process such as one they have in Texas or to be removed after "x" number of years by petitioning the courts.

You have a young man who is released from prison when he is 22 or 23 years old. If he lives a good life, he will still be registering for the next 60 years. There is just something wrong with that.

People can adapt and cope with most any situation if they see that, at some point, things will get better and there is an end to it. That is not the case with lifetime registration. People feel trapped with no hope of their situation improving.

Only a few people should be lifetime if it remains, only because they have PROVED they can't/won't be rehabitated and reoffends.

Like the case of Billy Lane, list of priors, licence revoked due to dui's, goes and kills someone and only gets six years, gets released after four and gets all his felonies taken off his record.
