I will continue to look for a page that has all sex offender registration laws more up-to-date and in one place. When I find it, I will post it.
But this table will give some folks at least an idea of the restrictions in their state, since they only add restrictions and never seem to abolish them.

Good information.
I agree that real time information is what is needed here.
So if one could prepare a table or something similar that had all of the states' registration rules, could links be fixed so they would automatically update?
In other words, could the links be fixed so that they link to an outside source which will always be current?
If we could do that, could we construct such a table and put it as a sticky on our site?
Or is it possible to do this on Daily Strength? It seems as if some links could be placed here on a single page which had links to outside sources which are always current. Is that possible?
I would gladly help with such a project if it is possible.

I noticed in the table that I posted, the link to the Maryland registry information linked to a pdf file.
When that file is opened, at the bottom of the page there is another link which links to the Maryland sex offender registry information. In fact, at the bottom of the page it says----
"""The Maryland Sexual Offender Registry may be accessed via the Internet at http://www.dpscs.state.md.us/onlineservs/sor/""
When I copied and pasted the link in the preceding paragraph it took me to a page which had a lot of information and links. On the right hand side of the page under the "Registry Resources" title, the first link was "Sex Offender Registration FAQ. Could a document be created and place on our board which would link to the FAQs and would that not be current?
I don't quite understand why a series of links could not be posted on Daily Strength with each link pointing to an external side with the correct, up to date information.

But if the external links do not change and the only changes are the updates in the document to which our links point, would that not work for Daily Strength?
rewdiazepam
You are correct, the information needs to be in real time.
But I don't want to change the format of the forum or board we have here. I doubt that Wisconsin would want that and the board works so well as it is, I would not want to tinker with success.
We have the best support forum for families of sex offenders on the internet hands down.

And this link for national...
http://www.sexoffenderresource.com/national/
But they are a guide to someone who has no idea what to expect from probation and the sex offender registry.

The rules are simple. Look for sites that ARE government sites. Usually ending in *.GOV. This is public information so they want you to find it. Posting the registry sites is easy. Finding the rules is trickier but doable.
By STATE:
1. Find the state registry website.
2. Find the state law site defining current laws.
3. If possible find any site that lists RSOL support.. (like CA-RSOL, etc.)
If we can collect these links we can create a resource for our users. I would be more than happy to collect them if you PM me. I'll validate them and create a page with them that can be posted. We might not get the latest right off the bat but we should be close enough to find the latest.
