I am on FB - went to read some of the comments :( - blocked it so I could not see anything on it. In their eyes sex offenders are all the same & won't repeat what else I read. I know what people think but they are clueless by far. And on top of it the one local new station was doing the usual fear mongering about Halloween. There is a boogeyman under every rock out there on Halloween. We already know the 30th & 31st what the rules are and will abide by they as I am sure the majority of SO's will. As it is expect the POI to visit tomorrow to make sure we have no Halloween decorations visible from the outside. Only Halloween decoration we have is a black cat. Sorry got off on a tangent.

Actually also the statistics show that the sex offenders that do this type of thin and re-offend are career criminals in all types of crimes - this guy fits the bill.

He killed many years before he ended up with a SO status. In my mind he's a killer. But they throw around that SO in the headlines of most articles I saw.

But isn't this further proof the registry doesn't work? Isn't this an example where police may have been better equipped to find him if they hadn't been focusing on every CP viewer?

Isn't this proof that even when 'registered' if someone wants to commit a crime they will? That even if they are restricted from a park or forest preserve they will commit a crime if they are going to.

The registry does nothing to stop crime. It gives a false sense of security.

I wish that message would get out. Instead this will lead to some national registry since he crossed state lines.

My question is, why in the HELL do they have to put sex offender when starting off with the story????? Why not call the man a rapist/murderer because apparently, that is what he is. Why put a name of sex offender on people who urinate outside and are caught, for instance? Oh this makes my blood boil! I mean COME ON!!!!!

The moment I saw this story break while I was at one of my client's (they have two TV's in their entrance lobby), I knew in my heart that this was not good for us. The guy is a serial killer. Obviously, they want to play up the sex offender aspect. It gets better headlines and ratings.
