No, Missouri is not a good place for SO's. They used to be decent, but in the past couple of years they have gotten a little crazy with their laws, much like the rest of the Bible Belt.

Kansas used to be a lot better than Missouri. I do know that at one time they did not have residence restrictions, but that could always change.

Check out Colorado. They seem to be pretty fair.

But do a close check on Missouri. I think you will find that that is not the place you want to be for an SO.

Kansas is not perfect, but it is a hell of a lot better than Missouri, or Oklahoma. Those two states are God-awful for SO--and that goes with the rest of the Bible Belt states.

what about Mn or Nd? any one know of how things go in those states for SOs? And is it allowed for them to move out of state once they are let out? I live in MN and my son is in jail in ND.

I'm in ND and we are still in the early stages, so my husband is not on the registry list as of yet. However, from everything I hear about other states, ND seems fairly decent as far as the registry goes. There are no residency restrictions, as well as no restrictions on going to a public park, campground, or any of the other places I have read about on here. The only real restriction is you can not step on school property, however, if you get the school boards ok to be there, then you can. Also, as far as the registry goes, only high risk/life time registers photos are shown on the registry, as well as public notifications are only done on the high risk registers. There are three tiers, the low and medium do not include photos and are only accessible on the downloadable/printable adobe file version, only the high risk/lifetime registers show up on the main page of the registry.

anarchy- more work then you can imagine, the problem is lack of housing. We have the oil boom going on up here, people from all over are moving this way, living out of campers or pitching a tent wherever they can find open ground. Last I heard we have the lowest unemployment in the country. Here's an article from last year, but things are pretty much the same today.
