i remember reading a story in the news of a underage girl with a FB page getting 2 guys in trouble. they were arrested, convicted and put in prison. she lied about her age on FB and was deliberately looking for men. the 2nd on found out her real age and went to her father to tell/warn him about what she was doing. the father called the cops on him. that's when he found out that she had done it before. it did him or the lawyer no good what so ever to bring that fact up. and nothing was done to the girl, she got in no trouble.
and like this story. these guys too thought that everything was fine and legal. they thought that they were safe!
I am encouraged, however, to know that at least some judges are not buying into the what those in law enforcement claim when a person stands before the bench on criminal charges. At least some judges have integrity in a system that has become systemically corrupt to deprive "justice" to many who become entangled in its trap.
To expose him is one thing, but you know what would be better for people like him, for cops that commit perjury, and for DAs that hide evidence and commit other acts of wrongdoing?
Fine them and fine them heavily. The only way some people will fully get the message is to hit them in a place that it hurts all of us----in the pocket book.
Of course, he and his fellow sheriffs should be tried and convicted of some type of conspiracy charge, but we all know that may never happen.

If he is still accusing them of being "sexual predators" even after they had been cleared of any wrong doing----and on TV and at a press conference no less----isn't that some form of slander?

but yeah, ya have to wonder why he or any other who is doing this, hasn't been sued for it? is it because these guys just want to forget or bury the embarrassment? or is it because they feel/know that they would get no where fighting the LE system in their towns?
There's a very good chance it is some form of slander and there's even been at least one similar case that resulted in damages being awarded in New York. It may also have a slight impact on criminal trials because how could one get a fair trial after being named and shamed in multiple press conferences?
The federal grant money also comes with stipulations requiring any investigation to be performed up to ICAC Standards and the penalty for not doing so is to have the grant funding revoked. Sheriff Judd's bottom line might be hurting soon
