My husband is scheduled to discharge in March. But he was called in to sign his release papers on Monday. His experience has been that men sign their release papers 30-60 days before discharge. He asked his CM why he was signing so early and his response was, "Well, they're giving back so many days right now that I just want to be prepared." But the date on the paper did read March 25. Should I get my hopes up that he might be released earlier? I'd like to know typically what timeframe others were released after they signed release papers.

I know you are from Oklahoma. What did his last time sheet say in regarding to the number of days he has left to serve?
They give each inmate a timesheet each month. Usually the CM passes them out, but they can also put them on the bunks if he is in a dorm type setting or slide it under the door if he is in a cell? It will tell him the days he has left to serve.
Give me that information and what level he is on and I can tell you when he will be home and if March 25 is correct.

But Oklahoma is fiddling around with their good time credits, so his release date could be moved up. Not likely with a sex offense, but possible.
March is undoubtedly the correct release date.
