Here is another good source for sex offender and registration requirements for all 50 states.

The information here is advertised as being accurate as of 2010, so double check your state to make sure.

You know I was looking through this and of course Alabama is first - there is an interesting section for each state that is "Registration for staff member" Alabama is a great big NO - so I started looking through the rest of the document for that same section and indeed it means if a Dept. of corrections (in any capacity) staff member commits a sex crime do they have to register - Alaska has a great big YES - so basically Alabama automatically lets DOC staff members commit sex crimes and not be subject to registration - are you kidding me?? Now of course I am on a mission to see other states that say no - arrrggghhhh

Ok in case you are interested - I know we have talked here about how it seems when cops are arrested and other DOC folks that they do not get on the registry - well here in at least part is why - these are the states and US Territories that actually have laws that state DOC staff members (along with other people in power such as caregivers (in some states) DO NOT have to register! I find this absolutely appalling! REW what a great tool!

I don't think PA is accurate. According to that, my husband doesn't need to register. If this is from 2010 it's before everything changed in Dec of 2012.

I think it means (caregivers) if the are in a state job and only some of those states

Caregivers is not something in all the states
