rewdiazepam
He loved meth, he tells me about the rush he got from 'slamming'(Injecting) the crap. His teeth are gone, just nubs, he will forget a conversation seconds after it is over, but two hours later he resumes it's like it never ended. By his own guess, he has been to jail around 12 times.
He now HATES meth and hasn't touched it in 15 yrs. He is also one of the nicest guys you could ever meet and if you ever need help with anything, he's there.
NOW, I told his story because of why he quit that shit 'Cold Turkey'. He lived in a family owned home so he had no rent, he got welfare and food stamps and just went along smoking/snorting/slamming that garbage, Then, DCFS came in and took his kids. For him, that was 'Rock Bottom', it was a slap in his face and said "No more". His ex said "I want more". He got clean, and in a VERY rare move in this State, The Father was granted FULL custody of his kids.(I know both kids, they're good kids, no drugs, the youngest, still in HS wants to be a cop).
My point is, some 'Tough Love' is in order. Tell your Mother this story, he needs to hit bottom, even it means living on the street.
I was never an addict(I did smoke more than my share of weed in HS, but haven't since 1982) but I didn't have it together and it took getting kicked out by my parents house and living in my truck for a few months to straighten up.
I really, REALLY hate meth and it has also hit home for me.
I don't really know what the relationship would be, he is my Sister in Law's Nephew and for about a year, my brother and his wife had custody of him. To him I am Uncle Jimmy. He's 5 and just a great little guy, and a 'Meth Baby'. It would take a week to go into all this drama but I've known his mother since she was a kid, and his father for 10+ yrs, before meth.
I avoided getting involved until this last Christmas when I got highly pissed.
Since my oldest niece was 2, it has been a tradition for the girls to decorate my tree every Christmas.(She's 16 now and there are 2 more nieces). This last Xmas, he came too and a happier kid you've never seen.(I always have cupcakes and hot chocolate for the kids). It was his first real Christmas. I hate my picture being taken(Go figure) but I do in front of the tree with the kids, and he put himself right in front of me and pulled my arms around him(He was still 4 at the time). On one hand it made me feel great to see this little guy happy, BUT, it also pissed me off bigtime, it should have been his FATHER with his arms around him, not me. His dad has been clean for almost a year now(Not his mother) and is fighting for custody. I'm good with that, but warned him if he hurts that little boy again he's going to deal with me.
If he screws up again, I'm going to give him some tough(Painful) Love.
