Question about reception

Currently my husband is in reception at wasco state prison. He has asked me to send him some stamped envelopes and paper since the commissary ran out. Can I just buy envelopes and stamps and send it to him or does it have to be the pre-stamped envelopes? Also can I just send him a whole legal yellow notepad or is there a quantity of how many sheets of paper I can send him? If anyone could help me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

In CA, you can send a package of binder paper, up to 20 envelopes (prestamped or not), stamps and one clear Bic pen.

You can send the legal pads, but have been told you have to tear the cardboard off the back before sending it (silly, I know. Especially since they can have the legal pad with the cardboard from commissary).
