Here is how I see these things. Your son has to go the extra mile to protect himself.----and I DO mean the extra mile. Nobody will look out for him better than himself. No matter what it takes he cannot put himself in a position where anyone can ever accuse him of anything.
If I had been in the restroom and the men with the two little girls came in, I would get out of there----and quickly. If I had entered the restroom and seen two men in there with younger girls, I would have turned around and walked right back out until they left. I realize it was your husband who went in there, but I am just hypothesizing what I would do if I were your son.
The reason is simple-----no matter if a registrant is in the right or wrong or if he has an excuse or not, it he somehow gets accused nothing else will matter. Any sex offender who is subsequently accused of another incident does not have a snowball's chance in hell of making anyone believe the truth that he was not guilty of some misconduct.
Personally, I never go to places where I can get into tight quarters with children. I also have a policy that no female ever enters my house without her BF or husband present. If she wanted to start trouble, it would be just my word against her word and we all know how that usually turns out. Same for the car. No single female will ever be in my car when I am there.
These seem sort of drastic preventative measures to take, but they are absolutely necessary. If a registrant ever finds himself in a courtroom or a jail cell after being falsely accused in one of these situations, he will have wished he had been more careful.

I hate going into the bathroom when kids are in there, it has nothing to do with me having been on Probation or having had a safety plan before. I just like it quiet in the bathroom lol, and kids are the opposite of quiet.
