Not sure how long fiancé will be serving yet but I have to ask, I know that we are going to have issues finding a place to live because of his felony, here's my question: how hard is it for a sex offender to find a job and a place to live after getting out? Can they lead normal lives? My fiancé has a college degree in Biochemistry, I'm hoping he could find a job in research facility. I'm thinking of buying a home so we wouldn't have that problem but not sure if I can really do it by myself. Another option is probably renting from a homeowner who manages the rental instead of a property management company that does background checks. I'm a teacher so I think I can probably get a place for us. But if anyone would like to share any advice or experience I sure would appreciate it!
My BF is having a terrible time finding a good paying job. He has an Associate’s Degree in Computer Programming and Web Option (Computer Geek) . He has been at his current job for 5 yrs and gets paid just barely over minimum wage. He has been looking for jobs all but most places refuse to hire a Felon because they are not allowed to.
Hopefully with a degree in Biochemistry your Fiance won’t have as hard of time finding a position. As for living arrangements, buying a place would be a lot easier (if you can afford it). My boyfriend and I live in Omaha, NE and finding a nice property management company to allow him to live in their buildings was difficult. Now we have our own place and things are much nicer.
