I have noticed that there are a lot of mothers, wives, and GFs of men who have committed a sex offense and are now in the middle of a criminal investigation.
There is one test----a psychosexual examination---which can be very important in determining the sentence for your loved one.
A positive psychosexual examination is performed by an unbiased, objective health professional and can show that an offender is at a very low risk of re-offending.
A positive psychosexual examination holds a lot of weight with many judges and even some DAs. It will show that your guy is not likely to re-offend. Judges not only often take this test in consideration of the sentence, but judges are very impressed with the opinions of a third party, unbiased health professional.
After all, it is only commons sense that judges feel comfortable in giving out a lenient sentence after he reads a positive mental evaluation.
I have seen a positive psychosexual evaluation make the difference between prison and probation.
Here is just one of the many examples in which this evaluation made a big difference at sentencing----
“Valley County District Court Judge John McKeon cited the opinion of a sex offender treatment specialist, as well as testimony from witnesses, as reasons for sparing Martin Blake, 40, from prison.”
So, you might want to ask your loved one’s attorney about this test.

The operative word in this is unbiased. My fiancé had the same evaluator from his first offense for his second one. That person determined there was no improvement in my fiancé. His attorney did not feel bringing in a different evaluator was going to be effective - maybe even hurt the situation more.
His attorney was correct. If the evaluation has not basically changed, then there was no need to have another one done.

If you bf’s plea is a good deal, which I think it is, then I would just leave things as they are. A positive psychosexual evaluation would be of no benefit at this point. I think your guy is in pretty good shape as far as his legal problems are concerned.
