Especially the one about the SO who lobbying the Legislature about SO restrictions, ect...and the violated him for not reporting in 5 days of his "employment" as a lobbyist. By the way, he was doing this on his own time & was not being compensated!!! Unreal.....
Its a crime that all this money goes to the government and/or law enforcement. I can hear it now.. "well, it costs money to follow you SO's all over the place.." Yeah, its called earning your paycheck, jackwagons!
Yes, I read the article you are referring to.
I try to read all the articles I can get my hands on. I go to all the law blogs, the SO sites, and the SO blogs.
Unfortunately, I get so disgusted with what I read that I have to just turn off the computer and get away from it every once in a while.
Sometimes I think I am in some kind of altered universe where up is down, right is wrong, black is white, etc. I keep thinking that this entire sex offender mess cannot be happening in this country.
I have never seen such civil rights violations in my life. The sex offender registry is probably the most egregious
violations of civil rights since slavery.

They don't really care about the victims or about the rehabilitation of the offenders. This entire sex offender registry situation and the "tough on crime" stance on sex offenders is all about money.
Too many groups are making too much money and using this as a some kind of money gravy train for anyone to have any incentive to stop the registry or to put a halt to the war on sex offenders. I am sure they would like to stop certain really heinous crimes such as rape, etc., but they are content to just allow perpetrators of non-contact crimes such as child porn possession and solitation over the internet to continue.
Just think about it. How many people are profiting from the registry and sex offenders: psychologists, private prisons, the people who do the polygraphs, parole officers and probations officers, local and federal law enforcement agencies, organizations such as Center for Missing Children, people like John Walsh and Redneck Lunsford----I could go on and on.
So why would they want these non-contact sex crimes to completely stop? Hell, most of these guys I mentioned are uneducated and they would be out of a job---and with their lack of education they could probably never find a job that paid anything.
Law enforcement receives millions of dollars a year in the form of federal grants to fight the so-called threat of child porn downloaders and people who solicit teens on the internet. With all that money they buy these expensinve SUVs, military-type equipment, and more items to fight cyber crime.
Private prisons surely want to keep their prisons full. If you had a motel with fixed expenses, would you want to keep it at full capacity? Of course; the same goes for private prisons which by the way are operated by corporations which then spend huge amounts of money lobbying legislators to pass more laws that will keep people incarcerated.
All sex offenders are appointed to some kind of psychological testing or treatment, so the psychologists don't really want this to stop. More sex offenders, more patients, more money.
John Walsh has not worked a day in his life since his son was murdered (btw, his son was not murdered by a sex offender), so no, he does not want this to stop. And do you actually think that slimy, greasy haired Lunsford would have the money he has today without all this; he is still being paid handsomely to speak at events.
So, as far as these piddly non-contact crimes are concerned, the media and the police have made a mountain out of a molehill and created a bigger problem that it really is. They scare the hell out of the general public, then when they make a bust on a solicitation or a child porn downloader, they make damn well sure that the media is there to lap it up and put it in that evening's headlines.
It is just a viscous cycle---wash, rinse, and repeat. And they are doing all this at the expense of the families of sex offenders, who have done nothing wrong.
I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture.

That is such BS. If they really cared about the children they would take into consideration the millions of CHILDREN OF SEX OFFENDERS when they pass these Draconian laws.
Don't the children of sex offenders matter? Do they somehow not count?
Of course they don't count because it is not about the children---it is about job security and money. Plain and simple.
