I learned this after my first Poly. Expect them to tell you it failed. Just smile and say "Okay!!" If you don't talk further they can't do anything.

I also drove my PO's nuts by only speaking when spoken to! I found it much easier to deal with them when I didn't volunteer anything. outside of "its a nice day today, etc...." The more you say the more they'll dig! When they see that you're smart they'll back off. Don't let the system intimidate you!

So true Rew. The "Lie Detectors" can NOT tell a lie, of course, but those who believe they work might admit to something that could cause them a lot of trouble. The machine CAN NOT tell if someone tell a lie, so never say more than is asked. If you "fail" a question, just say " I have no idea why that is" and leave it at that. Many polygraphers themselves have admitted that this machine is bogus. It is only for intimidation. We are not that advanced YET to look into someone's thoughts. Thanks for sharing this.

I took 2 while in VT. None since my transfer to SC. I'm 7 years into my minimum 4 years-maximum 5 years or until further order of the court. Last time my C PO tried to release me VT said it was for life. That's not what I agreed to. My Po is currently trying to again, to get me off... I'll hopefully know June 3rd.... Please pray for me...

MD law prohibits employers from giving polys to employees or potential employees as a condition of employment.

My guy has to take one every 6 months while on probation. He has 3 years probation, and we are half way through.

polygraph itself isn't a problem, in the end it is the confession (that the polygraphing cajoles) that does the actual damage. Technically, polygraphs only measure nervousness (if you're not guilty then you won't be nervous right? riiiiiiiighhhhhtt....................)

Just admit nothing and you will be fine.

@registered Actually it IS the Polygraph you have to worry about. Even if you don't confess anything, you have FAILED the Polygraph and you can be DISCHARGED from S.O. Treatment, which in turn is a Probation Violation. Exactly what happened to me.
