yes it is all very stressful. Is your son being released in Fla and then going to Philly? If yes, make sure you jump the hoops in Fla too. I am a little confused about the computer thing - usually they say each one has to be password protected (in other words they cannot restrict your use of a computer - keep inn mind through all of this you did not break the law and they have NO jurisdiction over you although they will act like they do!) . Also, most states allow computer use if for work purposes. If you need to navigate the Fla system I suggest you contact FAC - those folks have all the info you might need.

I'm glad your son is getting out. He can get along without direct access to the net just fine. I wasn't allowed a smart phone (or what passed for one back in the early 2000s) nor a computer. However, if I wanted something online I would call a friend or go to their home and let them look it up for me. They printed articles for me which I needed for school and I learned the internet is a tool but not a necessity.

Next month I'm having survalance cameras installed and I plan on finding ways to record inside the house as well. Thanks for reminding me oneofthem.. right now I don't have the cash , but it's going to happen.

From my experience you can have a computer, smart phone, laptop, desktop, ipad, etc. all with internet access. He just can't use any of it nor have access. Also when they do walk throughs of your house they can only access his room and shared space (I.e. kitchen, bathroom, living room, etc.). They absolutely cannot access your room or your things unless they have a warrant.

u can have computers its not u on probation . my hub can have comp just cant have access to be online . the products are fine long as you dont have access . probation tells my hub . so if we have to find imfo to something its always me that checks it out and relates it back . learned this 4 yrs now . gets easier as time goes by . but in way a pain in the tail cause i get tired of having to search . to me if its normal online stuff , whats the problem . uhhh all about control again . .. the laws are so mixed up its not even funny . . isnt it the porn they need to worry about then of regular online normal stuff . whats the big deal . anyways gotta do what they say .

A computer can have a filter put on it. K9 is free. With someone other than the SO having the passcode. I have it on my son's netbook and his internet is completely blocked. He cannot get on unless I enter the passcode. The only downfall is that he can do a restore on the netbook without my signing off on it. So, you would have to find a software that won't allow a restore without you logging in.

bamboships.. yes, I know they don't have permission to look in the closets that are closed and rooms that are private, like mine. But they're sick people. They asked me if my cornsnakes were poisonous. I figured that letting them see that there wasn't a body in the closet eased their sick minds. I know there's nothing in there but I let them. I should have told them that I know my rights but I don't care what they think. This is just the probation office and not his probation officer. He'll be assigned to someone else when he gets here.
My son called an told me that the officers were just trying to scare me. I went along because I just want them to ok the premises. by the time my son gets here I'll have to deal with the real world of it.
My computer is password protected and I can have a smartphone. My son can have a computer as well and he doesn't care if they want to check it out on occasion. Our shop is online and he needs access to it. He's part owner of it and will work to take it over some day.
I'm going to be tougher next time. The thought of them finding something that would keep my son from coming home DID scare me so they got me there.
They also made it seem like our shop is just a magnet for children because we're busy around Halloween , we sell to haunted houses. I know it is not hard to bypass the admin due to being able to go as guest. We just always had things set up as admin with no other profiles.
