She suffered the loss of her daughter. She is not able to think rationally. If you really look at what she is saying, it doesn't make any sense except to express her own pain.
I wonder about the concept of making amends. Of course, if someone has made a victim, its really not possible to make amends to that person. Although some would think that financial restitution in large amounts would fill that void, I don't think that is an answer.
There are restorative justice programs in some states where the victim is allowed to see the offender primarily for the purpose of restoring their personal power through some kind of structured interaction.
That's a step forward for many people, but those programs are rare.
I wonder if some kind of "pray for my victim" website exists where people can post anonymously their hopes and prayers for those they are harmed.
Just a thought.
nothing like admitting some kind of guilt for breaking the law, and not expect LEO to come looking for you.
I know the mind set of some of the people who inhabit reddit. If some of those guys who post at reddit had " received a call from "some girls from school" who told them they were drunk "and wanted to have fun," they would be down there in a flash, especially if they thought the girls were 16 years old.
So for them to severely criticize this poster, is hypocritical.
Some people claim to be so damn "saintly" until they themselves get caught up in such a situation. I would be the first to say that what these boys did was wrong, but let's put everything in perspective here. They thought the girls were older, the girls were already drunk, and they asked the boys to party with them.
This does not make it right or acceptable so before some nitwit reads this and says I condone what the boys did, I want to say I do not agree with what these young men did. But rape is rape, statutory rape is statutory rape, and foolishness and being stupid is foolishness and stupid.
As I said, let's keep everything in perspective.
Small minded people think everything in life is black and while. Critical thinkers know that life is made up of all shades of gray.

But if it happens to them, all of a sudden they preach forgiveness.
Nowhere is that more evident than sex offenses. People hate sex offenders and want them all shot at dawn until it happens in their family. Then, all of a sudden, they see the light. We can all relate to that to a degree.
I just believe we need to look at all sides of the situation before we make a judgment on others-----and it is best to never judge others to begin with.
