I am a RSO here in New York State. I am Level 1 with no designation and a 20 year registration. My situation was that I met a girl in a bar in 1989. I will admit that we had sex I later then find out that she was only 15. ( this girl looked like one of the Kardashians). After I would have nothing to do with her and blowing off her advances she tried to extort me for a large sum of money. Thus then having me arrested for rape 3rd degree when I would not pay .Bu I fought it for 5 years. Finally I received $1000 fine, 5 years probation. No sexual councelling and then have to register. Then the nightmare starts. I am 53 now and on January 16 2016 I will be off the registry. Since then I am being barred from bringing my wife here from the Philippines on a I129F Alien fiancé petition because of that bullshit Adam Walsh Act. And just recently have been blacklisted in November of 2013 from entering the Philippines courtesy of the US Embassy in Manila after going there many times a year for 10 years. To see my wife I have to fly to other countries to see her. It is a financial strain and how long will it be before I get blacklisted from these other countries. But What I want to point out for the RSO's that have to register in New York State. A bill, S556-2013 was introduced by a Senator Gianaris to amend the current sex offender registration to make EVERYONE who is registered in New York State a life time registrant regardless of your level. It also prevents any appeal or petition for early release. This bill was introduce and prefiled in the Senate on January 9, 2013 and has been the crime victims committee. I have one year left and I will be released and now I accidentally find this info on the net. I am devastated and I cannot tell my wife as she has said she can only give me 1 year for us to be together or she will have to leave and live her life. I am depressed and crushed because I love my lady with all my heart. Everyone here in New York should contact their State Senator to voice their objection over this. This is a starstruck politician who wants nothing but a spotlight on him. I am fed up with being treated like an animal. And to say something last,I have written many letters to John Walsh of Americas most wanted about the Adam Walsh Act and what it is doing to families.
